Bethlehem Youth Ministry Coordinator/Director Application

At Bethlehem, our goal is to help youth to encounter Christ, to be given the opportunity to receive Christ and to grow spiritually. We also seek to support and equip the family unit as a whole because we understand that the greatest influence on a student's faith starts at home. We operate under Safe Sanctuary standards, meaning we are diligent about offering a safe environment for all students. We conduct background checks on our staff before training.
Position Summary: This person would be responsible for developing and leading formation ministries for youth. This includes Sunday morning and evening activities, Small Group Bible Studies, Missional Opportunities and seasonal events. This position also oversees volunteer recruitment and finances; communicates regularly with youth, parents and entire congregation; follows the Church’s Safe Sanctuary Policy; collaborates with the pastor, staff, parents and laity to involve youth in Church life.
Compensation: This will begin as a part time position with salary commensurate to experience. The position has potential to become a full time position as the ministry grows.
Qualifications/Background: Applicants should possess the following: Strong work history, commitment, flexibility, planning ability, patience, reliability, willingness to be a team player, self-starter, creativity, budgeting, ability to supervise, and passion for spiritual formation of children. Applicants should be 23 or older and have a strong desire to grow in Christ both personally and through living in intentional community.

•Experience in OR gifts/passions for children’s ministry.

Bethlehem Children’s Ministry Director Job Description
The main responsibility of the children’s minister is to facilitate, oversee and/or teach discipleship programming for children. The children’s minister is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the mission and teaching of the UMC and all ministries should include elements of strong Biblical & theological content. The children’s minister exhibits a passion for Christ and model spiritual discipline.
Discipleship Programing incudes these responsibilities:
•Oversee Children’s Sunday School including recruiting volunteers, resourcing curriculum and providing assistance.
•Plan and Oversee Tree House including securing volunteers, resourcing curriculum and providing assistance.
•Build relationships with children and their families
•Recruit, train and support children’s leadership team with regular meetings and follow-up sessions. Provide Safe Sanctuary Training for all leaders.
•Plan and implement seasonal opportunities for fellowship, spiritual and missional experiences
